I stumbled upon a twitter conversation with Heidi Thorne and Tahira Endean this morning regarding lanyards.
It all started with a terrific blog post by Heidi where she was discussing a Dark Side of Going Green at Events, i.e. the challenges with reusing lanyards for events when they may be soiled, have makeup on them, etc. and how some may be uncomfortable wearing a used lanyard. At the 30th Anniversary Educational Conference & MarketPlace, MPISCC used a conference navigation app for the first time. meetsmart mobile stepped up as a sponsor of the event and made it possible to cut last year’s printed program by 50%.
We saw an attempt at MPI’s World Education Congress last year to eliminate the printed program and rely on a mobile app for conference navigation. It seemed that many attendees were not quite ready to make the leap.
